ASUS Says Its Latest Business Notebook Is The World’s Lightest

ASUS has made several PC announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017, one of the new products that the company has announced happens to be something it’s calling a “business notebook.” It touts that the ASUSPro B9440 laptop is the lightest notebook in the world at just 2.3 pounds, beating the very light Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon notebook by just 0.2 pounds.

ASUS has fashioned its new business notebook out of magnesium-alloy to ensure that it’s durable and lightweight. The company has also thrown in a spill-resistant keyboard for good measure.

The 14 inch ASUSPro B9440 features a full HD display, can be configured with a 7th generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage.

The specifications are nothing to write home about, but then again, this isn’t a revolutionary product by any stretch of the imagination. Since ASUS has slapped on the “business” branding to appeal to professionals, it has added a fingerprint sensor to the notebook as an additional layer of security.

The company will start selling the ASUSPro B9440 Business Notebook later this year in May with prices starting at $999. It’s thin and light, but isn’t all that much different from similar products on the market.
